As challenging as it is to part with my treasures, I rarely miss them when they're gone. It's rather thrilling to clear spaces. I feel like it removes clutter from the mind too. It amazing to be left with just the interesting and quirky pieces that say something about me....like "This smart chic doesn't have to dust much." Plus, you can always replace stuff. Its just not that important. Enough said.
It's also shocking how much money was spent on all of it. Someone bought it. It was either me or given as a gift. Stuff collects and on Saturday it collects in my garage. Yes!!
Here are some examples of things I've parted with in the past and didn't need in my possession in the first place.
- Parafin Hand Spa
- My rubber stamp collection
- Scrapbooking supplies
- A million books (hardest to sell)
- Foot massager
- Homer Simpson Chia Head (gift from ex, not joking)
- Taebo, The Firm, Walk Away the Pounds, and others like it.
- A Water Distiller
- 14,000 Hot Wheels cars (Ok, the boys loved these, but we had way too many)
- Cake Decorating set
- Panini Press
- Juiceman Pro (yes, PRO)
- Bow Flex
- Anything with a cord that doesn't need one EX: teapot, knives, can openers)
I love growing up!! The older I get, the less I want to prove my success by the number on things I have. Letting things go is freedom. Sweet Freedom!
Here's to another day closer to 40!
