The Final Countdown

The Final Countdown

Today officially marks my 30 day march to 40 years old.  I am motivated this month!!! Checking things off my bucket list, making people’s day, and adding challenges. I’m loving the momentum! I’m not sure what I’ll do after my birthday, because this is fantastic!

Perhaps you know that I taught nutrition classes for years and even earned a Holistic Health Coach Certificate because I love the subject so much.  I really enjoy revisiting theories and of course, delicious recipes. Yesterday, I decided to listen to a program about acid in the body.  It’s amazing what things like sugar, alcohol and stress can do to you.  If you are having any kind of health troubles, I recommend starting with eliminating those 3.   (Of course I am not a Doctor…yet. I’m only 40 right?) But any researcher will tell you they can:

·      Feed cancer cells
·      Contribute to obesity
·      Speed up the aging process (Hell No!)
·      Cause depression and anxiety. (Like I need more anxiety…)

I decided to research a bit more on sugar.  Apparently 50% of Americans consume ½ lb. of sugar EACH DAY!!! I’m not sure if I’m on that piece of the pie, but even if I throw down ¼ lb. a day, it’s time to make a change.

So you guessed it!  A new challenge starts today.  The 21 Day Sugar Detox.  (Conveniently ending before my big day.) I’m so doing this! I’ll be eliminating sugars, refined grains, and alcohol.  Yes, I said booze, people.  Just 3 weeks, just 3….

I understand that at the end of this madness, I’ll likely be healthier, happier, and better looking.  Lots of promises, here….  But I might experience extra crabbiness, dizziness, fatigue, and joint pain while my body attempts to detox.  Just a warning.

Why?  How does starting the next decade feeling ridiculously amazing sound? Ya, awesome is right!

Think about joining me. I’m using a program from www.21daysugardetox.com
Remember, no booze for 21 days.  It’s going to be worth it!

Today’s kindness: Surprising a friend at work. It ended up being a gift to me.  It’s always nice to see my old buddy and I’m more inspired to do and be better.  Thanks LB!
